This review provides a comprehensive and multidisciplinary overview of recent advancements in solar tracking systems (STSs) aimed at improving the efficiency and adaptability of photovoltaic (PV) technologies. Thanks to their design, they can adjust their axis and accurately orient the photovoltaic panels to point towards the optimal position of the sun, which allows solar energy to be collected. These systems orient photovoltaic (PV) panels to follow the sun's path across the sky, thereby maximising solar energy capture throughout the day as compared to fixed-tilt systems.
